Kicked Into Touch

"Fair is foul, foul is fair."(Macbeth) George King dreamed of glory on the rugby field. He wanted to be captain. To play for the county - England even! And nothing was going to stand in his way!

My Thoughts

Kicked Into Touch is a rapid read - an exciting story to which all sports fans will relate. It's a short book and my goodness it packs a lot in to twenty eight pages.

Adult short stories are often published in collections but Badger publishers have cleverly produced Ann Evans series as individual books making them less daunting, more user friendly and convenient for the reader.

If you're after a quick read at bedtime, feel daunted by some of the longer novels I've reviewed on the site or simply like to intersperse easier reads with more challenging ones (I do that - can't manage too many heavy tomes on the trot so I lighten things up a bit with a comedy or short story in between) then this is a perfect book for you.

Anne Evans, the author of Kicked Into Touch, was kind enough to talk to us here a couple of weeks ago.  You can find Ann, and read about her other work here:-

My copy of Kicked Into Touch will now go a local school library as part of the fabulous BookBuddy initiative. If you are a teacher, or a prolific reader with books to spare, do check it out and help to share the joy of reading.

Teachers - have you discovered @BookPenPals? A new initiative pairing authors & illustrators with schools to make reading recommendations via postcards. They're pretty oversubscribed, but if you're interested it might be worth getting your name on the waiting list. They have some fabulous authors on board.
